Gregory Miles Lewis is a drummer, composer, performing artist and educator based in Los Angeles, CA. His compositional works range from avant-garde jazz to chamber, folk, pop, electronic, and experimental rock. Improvisation lies at the forefront of Greg’s musical and artistic practice.
Greg has collaborated and toured with many bands and artists including Rob Ford Explorer, Marina Hov Quartet, The Flamingos, Vinny Golia, and Adam Benjamin. He has performed at distinguished venues all over the world including the Mathcore Index Festival, Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, Reno Jazz Festival, Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts, and 924 Gilman.
Greg earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies and Percussion Performance from the University of Nevada, Reno. He is currently pursuing a Master of Fine Arts degree at California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) where he is studying drum set with Joe LaBarbera, composition with David Roitstein, and tabla with Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri.
